Volunteer Organization

Happy Fall Y'all!! This year I am BLESSED with several parents that love to volunteer. Which makes me very happy! I have gone years that I have had 1 parent that can come in and help. Now, I know that some of you may not have ANY and I am sorry. So don't be jelly when I tell you that I have a parent coming in almost EVERY day this month. Say what?! YUP! You heard that right. This allows me to do so many things in my classroom that I may not have been able to do without their help.

I always make a calendar at the end of the previous month to send home with all volunteers. It includes volunteer name and time they are coming.

I have some "Thank You" cards set out with a little treat for my volunteers.
I always include directions on each project.

I have also included a friendly reminder. You could send this home a few days before your volunteer was to come in.

You can grab this volunteer freebie by clicking the cover page below.

  1. These are super cute! I was wondering what do you have your volunteers do when they come into the classroom?

    1. Thank you Jean! I have them do basic prep stuff. I will have them trace patterns onto construction paper for craftivities; put student books together, cut out laminating, hang projects up in the hallway, I'm having them label all of my book basket books next week! Really, anything that I need :-)

  2. Those are so cute! This year I am trying Sign-Up Genius. It's a website (free) where you can enter in all of the volunteer dates/times that you need and send the link to your parents and they sign-up so everyone can see what's open and what's taken. It also e-mails them a reminder, so once you enter your info., your job is done. I just used it for my parent-teacher conferences. Loving it so far!! Also works for parties where they're signing-up to bring in food, etc.

    1. Kathy, my school's PTO uses that! It is nice! They just used it for our fall carnival. Parents could see which activities still needed help. Very cool site!!
