My school is 100% Jan Richardson for guided reading. In the past few years, Jan Richardson has come to our school several times a year to work with our teachers and monitor needs/improvement. It really does work when implemented correctly and given the time to show improvement. My school is 98% free/reduced lunch, high hispanic population, very low SES, and very little parental involvement. Other schools in the district have abandoned it, but for us it works! I'm glad to see it finally hitting the blog world! :)
