Counting Snowflakes Interactive Book!

Long time no see guys! Erin here from Creating & Teaching! I've made it a 2017 goal to be a better blogger again. Along with that, I can't forget about sharing awesome free stuff with all the readers here at Freebielicious!

I know it's February, but I'm still using some winter themed resources in my classroom along with starting to mix in some February/Valentine's themes.

I love interactive books and in my class of Pre-K up to First Graders there are so many different ways that I use them. They are great turn taking activities for my pre-k kiddos. We can practice wait skills, language, and social skills during these opportunities. For my older students they make great independent work, especially the counting books, so that I can work with other students 1:1, while keeping the others engaged at the same time. The possibilities are endless! I wrote a blog post with a bit more detail on how I use them in my classroom and some great resources for quality interactive/independent books! Read more about that {here}.

You can grab the counting snowflakes interactive book for {free} in my Teacher's Pay Teacher's store!

If you love it, there is a bundle available for Valentine's themed counting books. The bundle includes 4 books and works on counting 1-10. They are also available separately if you're just looking for 1 or 2 books.

Winter Writing

Every month I like to change out my student's writing on my display boards. I keep these each month to show the progression at the end of the year. It is truly fascinating how much they grow over the year.

I am now providing a color version for you to display on your smartboard to give them an example. Click on either pic to grab this freebie.

All About Penguins!

One of my all time favorite things to teach about during the winter months are penguins. Nothing gets much cuter than a penguin! This book, Penguins, Penguins, Everywhere! is such a great, child friendly book that shares tons of penguin facts!
As a little follow up activity, and a way to share all we learned about penguins, we make our square penguins into an All About Penguins book!

This is a super easy craft to make! All the directions are in my free download!

Inside of the penguin's belly are facts that we learned from reading penguin books and watching penguin videos.

These little penguins make an adorable winter craft full of tons of learning! You can grab this craft for free in Miss Kindergarten's TpT store!

Happy New Year!

I am OBSESSED with my new January Small Group Intervention pack!  I will be making a new one each month, so this is just the beginning of the fun!  I have been struggling with getting creative during my small group time, so I thought I would make a pack to keep the kids (and myself) motivated.  Hop over to my blog to grab a little freebie from the pack.  :)

Every year, my close teacher friends and I--there are nine of us--organize a Secret Santa gift exchange.  It's SO fun!  To help us find gifts for our Secret Santa recipient, we use this little form that I created:
