Counting Snowflakes Interactive Book!

Long time no see guys! Erin here from Creating & Teaching! I've made it a 2017 goal to be a better blogger again. Along with that, I can't forget about sharing awesome free stuff with all the readers here at Freebielicious!

I know it's February, but I'm still using some winter themed resources in my classroom along with starting to mix in some February/Valentine's themes.

I love interactive books and in my class of Pre-K up to First Graders there are so many different ways that I use them. They are great turn taking activities for my pre-k kiddos. We can practice wait skills, language, and social skills during these opportunities. For my older students they make great independent work, especially the counting books, so that I can work with other students 1:1, while keeping the others engaged at the same time. The possibilities are endless! I wrote a blog post with a bit more detail on how I use them in my classroom and some great resources for quality interactive/independent books! Read more about that {here}.

You can grab the counting snowflakes interactive book for {free} in my Teacher's Pay Teacher's store!

If you love it, there is a bundle available for Valentine's themed counting books. The bundle includes 4 books and works on counting 1-10. They are also available separately if you're just looking for 1 or 2 books.

Thanks for stopping in! I can't wait to be back with more great freebies to share with you!

Sweet Sentiments

I would love to share with you a sweet Valentine writing activity I have been doing for years. It's one of my favorite activities to do, and definitely a favorite of my students, as well.

First, we all write our names on a little slip of paper. I put them all in a big mailbox and everyone chooses a name. Then, we all privately write something nice to the person we chose.

Next, we give each other our sweet hearts and enjoy reading them. (I didn't get a picture of this because I was too busy enjoying my own sweet heart!) Finally, we all leave our hearts on our tables and walk around reading them. It brings us all such joy to read the sweet sentiments.

Here are some of them...

Here is mine! I LOVE it!

The little boy who received a heart from me was so excited. He read it and then ran over to me and said, "Ms. Rosenberg, I need to give you a BIG hug!"

I can't begin to tell you how sweet this activity is. I hope you find the time to do it too. And then come back and tell me how it went!

We Love to Write!

We sure do have a great group of budding writers this year! We recently introduced some new writing activities in our writing center and the kiddos are loving them! The fact that they CHOOSE to go to the writing center makes me so happy!

I have a really sweet bunch this year and they are exceptionally nice to each other, so I knew they would really enjoy our note writing center. I copied a bunch of the note writing templates onto white paper and stuck them in a little bucket. My students can write notes to each other, their family or even their dear teachers :) Then they stick the notes in the appropriate cubbies for delivery. They get so excited to receive little notes in their cubbies too :)

 {I love you because you are sweet and nice and generous. #swoon}

 {I like your Darth Vader shirt.}

 {I like you because you are nice.}

I found this one of my desk after school...so precious!! {and I love that she signed it "stodin't}

If you want to use these fun little templates in your writing centers this month, click on the link to grab them below!

Are you Ready for Valentine's Day?

I can't believe that it's almost February.   It's such a busy month.  There's 100th day and Valentines day.  We also have Scientist in the School coming at the beginning of the month.  Are you ready?

My calendar numbers were sorely in need of a remake for month.  You can snag these cute love bug numbers by clicking on the picture below.  You can also make two copies and use them in a memory game.

I also updated my alphabet matching game.  Match the lower-case owl to the upper-case hearts.  You can also make two copies of these and just match the owls to the same owls and the hearts to the hearts.  For students that know their letters, have them put the owls and hearts in order.  Grab this for free by clicking on the picture below.
