Hello! It's Reagan from
Tunstall's Teaching Tidbits
Sometimes the simplest things end up being the most valuable in the classroom for me! The teacher cheat sheet is possibly the center of all classroom happenings and it gets little to NO attention on the blog! Time to fix that today!!
I am NOT a fan of constant documentation. I mean we don't usually have the time to use the restroom let alone document everything happening daily, can I get an amen?
So here's a simple solution to the documentation issues we all face daily!
Each week on a cute clipboard of choice, you have a blank cheat sheet. {pictured below on the left}
As 3,647 small things come up each day you jot down on your cheat sheet so you only have one consistent place to look for the entire week's happenings. Keep it where you always have it handy. Take it to recess, take it to lunch, have it when parents call asking when things happened. It's a simple solution to the chaos!
The red marks on the right are examples of things I may write down in a given week.
I keep it to ten rows because I never used all 24 kid's names in a week and the spaces get too small to really write what is happening if you put to many boxes on a sheet. Ten seemed to be the perfect amount per week needed.
I leave all of the sheets on the clipboard for the entire semester underneath so I
can flip back when I get a phone call and have answers ready! Once the
pages on the bottom are really outdated, I slide them out and place them
in a file until the end of the school year. {Just in case}
To get this cheat sheet I am going to have you head to my
facebook page and use the
freebie tab! Hope it helps simplify your school year craziness! :)
