Bear-y Yummy Freebie
Here is a real quick "bear-y yummy" freebie for you. I love bears and we do a bear unit each January. There's just something about bears that kids love!
This is a Dolch sight word game. It includes both pre-primer and primer words. It's a super simple game. Each player gets a bear character with a cookie jar. The object of the game is to earn cookies for your cookie jar. I have printed cookies for this if you can't use food in the classroom, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE using the tiny mini cookies (even Cookie Crisp cereal works really well)!

Meet Jeannie from Kindergarten Lifestyle
Hi Freebielicious friends! - I want to introduce myself. I'm Jeannie...
I am a mom of 6!! (Yes I am crazy - thank you for asking). My youngest is 5 and my oldest is 16 and only 1 girl in the whole bunch....btw she is MUCH meaner than the boys....and MUCH more dramatic!
I've taught for 10 years. I've taught kindergarten, first, and second grade. I really love each grade, but kindergarten is truly my passion. I love their innocence and their love for life. Even on my worst days, they brighten my life.
In 2008, I received my M.Ed in Reading. I have certifications as a Reading Specialist and Master Reading Teacher. I also am certified to teach ESL and SPED as well.
I love the teaching blogging community. I know for a fact that I've become a better teacher using ideas from teachers all over the world! I love the 'give and take' sharing that we have!
A few of my favorite things:
Christmas movies - seriously I could watch these 365 days a year. They just make me happy! :)

Diet Coke - and yes my classroom runs on it!....and my house too!
Pinterest - I'm a Pinterest Addict....like seriously! I probably need a 12-step program. If anyone has a pin for that let me know. :)
Come check out my boards - my most valuable asset!
Hawaii! - I am determined to make it there someday... {sigh} Is there any person in the world who doesn't want to visit there?
I made these Letter Box sheets for my class a few days ago. I thought maybe you could use them too. Click below to grab them!
Hope you enjoy!

Bats & Spiders - Oh My!
I love October! I love the cool autumn air....ok we'll let's be honest - I live in Texas so I really need to say cool-er as in it's not 100+ anymore, not really cool! Anyways - I love it -- pumpkins, Halloween, creepy critters.....
Speaking of creepy critters, let's talk about bats and spiders! I love teaching my kinder kiddos about bats and spiders. In fact, it's the very first big nonfiction unit we do each year. Kids are inherently interested in bats and spiders and they have very definite opinions about both. So, I love to capture their attention and take advantage of their interests. Ah - yes! I'm a sneaky teacher!! :)
Here is a freebie for you. It's all about bats and spiders! I've included some graphic organizers, surveys, and graphs -- a great supplement for any bats and spiders unit! I hope you like it!

Hi Freebielicious Friends!
I hope the new school year is treating you well. It's hard to believe that it's already near the middle of September -- apple time!!
I'm here today with a new freebie that will fit in just perfectly with any apple-themed unit you use. It's actually a five senses pack. We use apples to investigate using our five senses -- hearing, smell, touch, sight, and of course the best part is TASTE.
This is a mini-poster pack with descriptive words that will help you and your little ones describe what you hear, smell, touch, see, and taste! I've also included printables so your kiddos can write what they experience.

Footprint Poem
Hello Freebielicious friends!
I know you are starting to gear up for another great year and I want to give you a little something that will help you and your kiddos get off on the right "foot" this year!
It's a little footprint poem that goes on the floor in the entryway of your classroom. Parents and kiddos love reading this poem on their way into the classroom on the first day or at "Meet the Teacher"..... it lets them know how excited you are to see them and gets them ready for a successful year ahead! What a great ice breaker!
I originally discovered this poem/idea on the site, Little Giraffes (an amazing resource) years ago and have used it ever since! I just made it all cute and ready to print for you guys!

Word Wall FREEBIE and Ideas
Nearly every elementary classroom "has" a word wall nowadays. The question is...
Do you "do" the word wall or simply "have" a word wall? There is a BIG difference between the two!
When I first started teaching it was accepted practice to "have" a word wall. We would get a new word wall word each week and place it on the word wall. Of course, there wasn't much else that went on with the word wall.
I LOVE "doing" word wall in my classroom! I value the time we spend "doing" it every single day. I see my students' incredible growth and it's a time they really enjoy too......they love playing the word wall games!
Below is a "mini" word wall for those dealing with tight spaces -- to use in a writing center or behind your guided reading table, or at home with your own little one.... :) This set of alphabet header cards makes a perfect "mini" word wall!
Come on over to Kindergarten Lifestyle to grab this FREEBIE and hopefully you can learn a new word wall game or two to spice up your word wall routine this coming year as well!

Fact Family Peeps
Anybody needing some fact family fun? Boy I know I sure did! We've been working on the concept of family families and the interconnectedness of addition and subtraction for a couple weeks now. But it's an uber-difficult concept for little ones ...... So, I knew my kiddos needed some extra practice with this activity.
I made this cute Easter-themed family family math center. I hope it motivates your kiddos to want to work on fact families like it has mine. I hope you love it!! Pop over to my blog to grab this freebie!

CVC Mouse Trap - Gotcha!!

I wanted to tell you about a game I made to help my kinders practice reading cvc words last year because I think it will help some of you right now. My kids fell in love with it and I had to literally pry it out of their hands to get them to put it down. :0)
In this game you are a mouse trying to catch cheese before a cat catches YOU! It is a simple, fun game that will provide plenty of practice reading cvc words.
