ABC Picture Cards

Hi everyone!

It's Kristin from A Teeny Tiny Teacher.  This week, we worked on putting words into ABC order.  We used some old picture cards that I had in my classroom, and it made me realize it was time to update them.

Come on over to my blog to see how I taught ABC order and to grab my new picture/word cards - as a freebie!

A Special Birthday

Hi everyone!

It's Kristin from A Teeny Tiny Teacher and I am here to offer you a freebie, as well as ask for a favor!  You might recall that last January, the Freebielicious girls and I teamed up to do a fundraiser for my first grader, Jon.  You can read more about Jon's story {HERE}.

This year, Jon's family is hoping to make his 8th birthday extra special by having him receive a whole bunch of birthday cards!  And that's where you come in.

Head on over to my blog to download some cute birthday cards (there are eight designs to choose from) that you can use for the loved ones in your life . . . and send one to Jon!  :)

Thank you so much for helping!  :)

First Day Freebies

Hey everyone!  It's Teeny!

Have you had your first day of school yet?  Mine was two and a half weeks ago (which is crazy!)!  But I know there are a ton of people who don't start until after Labor Day.

If that's you, and you're looking for a little something extra to add to your day, come on over to my blog for a couple of freebies!  :)

Classroom Rules Book

Hey everyone!  It's Kristin!

I am heading back to school in just one day.  ONE DAY.  Except, truthfully, I've been at school on my own time off and on all summer, and I'm talking about the fact that I am required to be there in just one day.  The kids come this Monday and I can't even believe it.  But I know in just a matter of time, I'm going to say something like I can't believe it's Halloween or I can't believe it's Christmas, or How is it Valentine's Day already?  Time just flies when you're having a great time living life.

SO!  In preparation for my new class of kiddos, I've created a little Rules book that we are going to be filling out together for the first couple of days.  We will review it all week and maybe even for two weeks!

I have a couple of versions for you and it's FREE over on my blog.  I hope you can use it!

The Message Center

Hey everyone!

It's Kristin from A Teeny Tiny Teacher.  I'm here to tell you about one of the most popular centers in my room.  I always save it for the end of the year when the kids are better writers, and because I think it's important to keep some things up your sleeve.

It's called the Message Center.  And it will get your kids writing.

Come on over to my blog to check it out and grab a few freebies so you can get started on this center in your own room!  :)

Meet Kristin (A Teeny Tiny Teacher)

Hi!  Freebielicious turned one so we thought it would be a good idea for you all to get to know each of us a little better.  Today is my day!

Finally.

:)

I'm Kristin.  I blog over at A Teeny Tiny Teacher.  I feel so lucky to be a part of this collaborative blog with all of these other amazing bloggers.  I am blessed!

I am also one of the (whisper voice) older ladies in this here bunch, and that is why I'm in my 17th year of teaching first grade.  SEVENTEEN YEARS.  I don't see how that is possible, but it's true.  And they have all been in first grade.

This is because I do not like change.

And it could be because I might be a bit of a whackadoodle and a bit of a loony tune, which I refer to as a Loonadoodle, but it's nothing to be ashamed of.

Here I am.
I'm the one in the sunglasses without the weird looking facial complexion.

Some things about me that make me ME:

I have been happily married for 16 years.

We have one fur baby.  She is a girl with a boy name.
So we spelled it with an "ie" which is what you do.
Murphie.

I am a Christian.  I love my church and my small group.
I pray all the time!  I try hard to read my bible, journal, and have some coffee
with the Lord every morning.
I have a twin sister.  I also have a big sister.  And a younger brother.
And my parents have been happily married for 45 years.  Maybe 46.  Could be 47.
I am not good at math.
I love to write.
I love to blog.
I love to look up stuff online that involves curriculum, such as a sequencing activity, or
maybe a writing unit, or a math lesson.  I am a nerd.  Nerdladoodle.
I love wine.  Red or white.  I don't care.
I love to hang out with my family and friends.
I love to talk.
I do not like to go to clubs.
I do not like most vegetables.
My idea of a great evening is getting in my pjs and cozying up with my hubby and Murphie
and a good movie.
Did you think I was going to say book?
Okay, I love to read, too.  A lot.
I am not good at sports.  Not even badmitton.
Another idea of a great evening is going out to dinner with my girlfriends.
I love reality TV.
I also like to go to the movies, but only if the people around me are quiet.
And only if the people around me don't mind me in my pjs.
Oh, and I am short.
Short.
Four Feet Eleven Inches.
Don't listen to anyone who says I must be 4 feet 10 because they are LYING.

Here's my little freebie for you.  My kids LOVE Roll the Dice games and these are perfect for the upcoming holidays.  Each student needs two dice, or you could have partners work together.  They add the dice, find the number, and draw whatever the code says!  FUN!

Caution:  Use foam dice or you may get a headache.  A Teeny Tiny Teacher is not responsible nor liable.

AND, here's one more!

That's all I've got, people!  Come visit anytime!  :)

Reader's Theater

I love Reader's Theater, but it's hard to find one that can be used in the primary classroom.  So I wrote my own.  :)

I have written ten plays that are designed for the beginning reader and each play only has two characters so that kids can partner up!

Come on over to my blog to download your free copy of The Birthday Party, and see how I use and organize Reader's Theater in my classroom.

Roll a Christmas Tree

Hey there!  It's Kristin from A Teeny Tiny Teacher!  I'm sharing my Roll a Christmas Tree activity with you.  All you need are the dice.

I've used this in centers and as a whole class activity.  It works best if you have FOAM dice - because they're quiet.  :)

Enjoy!

Cake Walk Game

I'm so excited to be here!  Woohoo!  Welcome to Freebielicious!  Get comfy (and warm up your printers) as you take a look around.

I made up a game to help review and reinforce skills you're working on in your classroom.  My kids played it today and had a great time!  It was super fun and worked really well.  This packet has the directions and everything you need -- and it only takes a few minutes to prep.  I'm only showing number one here, but you'll get the rest of the numbers over at google docs.  :)

Click on the pics to download directly from Google Docs.

If you haven't become a follower of Freebielicious, be sure to do so!

And come on over to my blog to see how I used this game in my classroom today.  :)
