Meet & Greet Forms

Hi friends! It's Hadar from Miss Kindergarten.
Over the summer, we invite our incoming kinders and parents to our classrooms for a Meet & Greet. During the Meet & Greet, we meet and assess our new students, meet the parents, and pass out some important information! Each form is copied on colored paper for two reasons. One, it helps to make sure that the parents know they have grabbed each sheet. It's easier to see if you have one of each color than if all the forms were in white. And secondly, because they look really cute ;) Take a peek at how we set up for our Meet & Greet!

First, parents sign in so we know who did not get a chance to pick up the important forms. I copied the sign in sheet on white paper so that the names are easy to see when written in pencil. Even Astrobright's white paper is stinkin' adorable!

Next, they grab the very first newsletter for the year. Each month, we send home a newsletter that explains what we are learning for the month, as well as important upcoming events. The newsletters are copied on colored paper so that they don't get lost in the shuffle and they also look great without spending tons on colored ink ;) These beyond adorable newsletter templates are from my friend Laral at Little Miss Kindergarten. Not only are they editable, but she also provides samples which are perfect as a starting off point!

The next page explains our daily schedule for both our early and late birds. I got the idea to add pictures to the schedule after seeing Lindsay's picture on Instagram. Such a cute idea!

Finally, they grab a student information sheet so we can get to know our new kiddos a little better.
I copied them back to back to save paper, but you can definitely staple the 2 pages together if you want more room for writing.

I hope this helps you as your prepare for a start of another year! Thanks for stopping by!

Watermelon Math FREEBIE

This Watermelon Math FREEBIE is perfect for the beginning of school (especially if you go back in early August like I do!)  I usually have a Watermelon Day which includes seed spitting, eating watermelon, writing activities and more...check out this post {HERE} for more information on that.  But below I am sharing just one part of the fun day, our watermelon math! (for the watermelon pattern, check out my Watermelon Pack at the bottom of this post)
First my students collected their choice of seeds (up to 10, but you could do smaller or greater numbers)
Next, they made plan using pictures and writing a number sentence to match.
Then they added their plan to the final copy, which then was attached to their watermelon (where they glued the seeds they collected)  Get your Watermelon Math printable FREEBIE {HERE}
If you are looking for more watermelon activities or the watermelon pattern, check out my pack {HERE} on TpT.
Hope you can add some fun into your back to school routine with your own Watermelon Day!
For more fun freebies and activities, visit my blog!

FREE Parent Letter for Change of Clothing

Some of our little learners do not make it to the restroom on time. I like to send a parent letter home to request a change of clothing that will stay in the classroom. You never know when it might be needed! The beginning of the school year is especially hard for the little ones.

Come on by to download your FREE letter in English and Spanish.

Open House or Meet the Teacher Letter Freebie

Do you send out letters to your students over the summer? I always used to, but have started just giving it out at Open House since we started having that before school starts.  I still haven't decided how I'll be getting these gifts to my new students yet, but, one way or another, they are getting them.  Now, you can send them, too, because I FINALLY updated my Back to School Letter Packet with the new updated version as seen below.  Also included in the packet are several different versions of Jitter Glitter letters, a First Day poem for parents (must include tissues if you use this one!),  as well as two different choices for the "growing" gift you can give your students (for preK, K and 1st!).

Open House/Meet the Teacher Night

I cannot believe it's that time of year again!  The summer has gone by soooooo fast.  Monday is our Open House/Meet the Teacher Night and I wanted to share some freebies with you.
I bought some glitter packets at Dollar Tree that were 5 packets for $1, stapled them on, and placed them on the student's desks.

I also have this sign and mints sitting out for the parents.

You can get these two downloads for FREE over at my blog.  While you're there, you may want to download this "Thanks for Popping In" freebie as well.

Head on over to my blog and download away!
